Our Favorite #MyClosetMaid Projects

Home improvement projects and organization have been all the rage this year. From Marie Kondo’s Konmari method encouraging minimalism and smart storage, to The Home Edit inspiring organization all around the house, we’ve loved following along and seeing where ClosetMaid has made a difference in your home.

Weekend Closet Remodels

Kayla from @decoratingdiaries shared that she was inspired after binge-watching The Home Edit and spent one weekend installing a closet system. She says her ClosetMaid system has changed her life already! This stylish closet features Selectives, which is available at The Home Depot.

Closet Organizer SystemKayla’s new wood closet system fits the aesthetic of the room so nicely there’s no need for doors.

If you’re like Kayla and redoing a closet has been on your mind, commit to a weekend project and make your dream closet a reality. Upgrading a closet with one of our wood systems can make the space feel brand new and doesn’t have to break the bank. ClosetMaid closet system products are available at The Home Depot and Lowe’s, so you don’t have to worry about planning too far ahead.

You can buy a kit, which comes with hang rods and shelving you cut to fit your closet, and then you can add drawers or doors to your system.

Closet DrawersAdding drawers to a wood closet system provides extra storage for items that don’t fit in your dresser.

Alyssa shared on her blog, Feathers and Stripes, how ClosetMaid’s Selectives system has worked for her daughter, “I love the drawers for extra organization, so I have a place to put her swimsuits, extra sheets and other things that just don’t fit well in her dresser. One drawer usually has some items that are a little too big but will fit soon-ish.”

Walk-In Closet Redo

Bigger walk-in closets take a little more planning, but the design process is made easy with ClosetMaid’s virtual design tool.

Melissa O’Brien wrote about her and her husband’s whole closet makeover on her blog, transforming two smaller walk-in closets into her dream closet space. After knocking down a couple of walls and entering the new room dimensions, Melissa used ClosetMaid’s design tool to configure the new space. The design tool allows you to add towers and change the layout to get it just how you want it.

Closet DesignMelissa’s new walk-in closet features ClosetMaid’s SpaceCreations in Bright White.

“After the towers and bases were up, I was able to go through and decide where I wanted to place shelves and hanging rods, Melissa tells her readers in her Master Closet Reveal blog. “The towers have pre-drilled holes so it was very easy for me to install the shelves and drawers exactly where I wanted them with just a screwdriver. Once I had the rods and shelves set, I got started on the fun part -- organizing all our clothes and finding the perfect spot for everything!”

Closet Shoe OrganizerAngled shoe shelves allow you to display and easily select from your shoe collection.

With SpaceCreations, you are able to customize each tower of your closet to fit your individual needs. For Katrina, this meant including a section devoted to her shoe collection. As you can see, in Katrina’s closet everything has its own dedicated space.

Home Office Storage

Beyond the closet, we’ve seen a need for improved storage solutions all around the home but especially in work spaces. Rebecca Rodriguez added ClosetMaid premium wood shelving above her desk work space for some extra storage. Rebecca shared, and we quote: “Ahhh finally. The organizational power of adding some wall shelves!”

We agree, shelving is an easy way to improve the organization of your space, especially when you’ve moved the office into your home.

Premium Wood ShelvingPremium Wood Shelving in White utilizes unused vertical wall space in your home.

We love seeing what home DIY projects you’re working on.
