With the wish to begin the year fresh and on the right foot, many people make New Year’s resolutions to get and stay organized. Being organized can make you feel accomplished, more productive and calmer when you know where all of your things are! However, it’s important to stay realistic when making your resolutions, so you can accomplish them. We recently read an article by professional organizer Barbara Reich about New Year’s resolutions you can actually keep. Here are a few of our favorites:
- “Memorize the credit card number you use most. You’ll be amazed at what a time saver this is.” How many times do you online shop or use your credit card each week? Imagine how much time you could save without pulling the card out each time!

- “Throw out any mismatched socks. If the mate hasn’t shown up yet, recognize that it’s probably long gone.” It might be hard to throw away socks when you believe its mate is going to show up, but there are fewer things less useless than a single sock.

- “Say no to the request that’s causing you the most stress. You don’t have to be a martyr. Save your time and energy for things you really want to do.” Cutting stress out of your life will help you live a happier and productive life, and who doesn’t want that?
